Riding on platforms is dangerous, forbidden and expensive.<\/strong><\/h3>

Riding a scooter on platforms or inside a station<\/strong> poses serious safety risks for you and others. Station areas are often very busy, with passengers moving in all directions. Using a scooter in these areas can lead to collisions, falls or serious accidents.<\/p>

In the event of loss of control or sudden movement, you could injure another user, or even yourself. In addition, station platforms and corridors are designed for pedestrians, not wheeled vehicles. Folded scooters are permitted<\/strong> on board the L\u00e9man Express. However, to ensure your comfort and that of other passengers, we strongly advise against carrying them during rush hour.<\/p>

When boarding, please fold your scooter and place it under your seat or keep it with you, without obstructing the movement of passengers and staff.<\/strong><\/p>

In the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, scooters can be transported free of charge, provided they are folded. They are considered as special luggage<\/strong> and must not exceed the following dimensions when folded: 130 cm x 90 cm x 60 cm.<\/strong><\/p>

In Switzerland :<\/strong><\/h5>

The transport of a folded scooter, packed in a suitable bag if possible, is free of charge.<\/p>

In October 2024, L\u00e9manis carried out a series of preventive actions in Swiss and French stations on the L\u00e9man Express to remind scooter owners that riding on platforms and within station perimeters is prohibited and highly dangerous. These actions were carried out in collaboration with the railway police, SNCF Voyageurs and Gares&Connexions. They raised awareness among almost 1,000 scooter owners on both sides of the border.<\/p>

Hailed by many travellers, this safety initiative has also attracted the attention of other mobility and local actors. Encouraged by this positive feedback, and the topicality of the issue, repressive measures in the form of fines will now be applied to reinforce our message: \u201cRiding on the platforms is dangerous, forbidden and expensive\u201d.<\/p>

At the same time, a campaign focusing on civic-mindedness on trains has highlighted the problems posed by unfolded or misplaced scooters, which disrupt the flow of traffic and increase train congestion.<\/p>
